What is a co-op?  A cooperative is a business controlled by the people who use it. It is a democratic organization whose earnings and assets belong to its members. By patronizing and becoming an active member of a coop, you invest yourself with the power to shape that business and our community. You control the politics and economics of what is truly your organization. *Text from NASCO.

Who are we? Penn Haven is a nonhierarchical consensus-driven, anti-oppressive living community. We are a hub for social justice and cooperative thinking.

What is our mission?  The mission of PHHC is to provide an alternative community and opportunity to meet and interact with other socially conscious, environmentally sustainable, and cooperative-minded individuals. PHHC provides safe, affordable, and environmentally sustainable housing for students of the University of Pennsylvania as well as other student-aged individuals in the Philadelphia area.

What is our vision?  PHHC envisions a community that engenders opportunities for other cooperative enterprises to be established and flourish within the West Philadelphia community. PHHC envisions an inclusive atmosphere that fosters collaboration and provides a space in which all individuals have equal opportunity for expression.
